Substack Musings
Is the honeymoon over?
So, the last few days, I’ve just been wondering, is my Substack Honeymoon over or just needs to be revived? To get your attention, thus
my photo of Donnie Kitty looking inquisitive.
When I joined in April, I was very apprehensive of what I might find. Little by little I published notes and posts, and generated happy heart marks, comments, and messages. (Like most, I do enjoy approval!) Then a few months ago, the responses dwindled, even though I tried to keep up my part of reading and liking posts and notes from others that appealed to me.
So, what to do? An acquaintance from a nearby writers’ group, had offered this advice. Make sure you have payments turned-on for your Substack account. This somehow activates going up in algorithms or visibility. Today, I did this. (Any tips on adjusting payments, please let me know. I basically want everyone to be able to read for free.)
Yesterday, I posted that I finally got my book, Catching The Past, self-published on Amazon. Another writer friend asked if I had a newsletter following. My response, “Well, not really, but I’ve got several followers and subscribers on Substack.” So, of course, I’m hoping you all see my notes and posts.
Once again, hey did you know my book is out? Catching The Past by Tina McDaniels. Find me on Amazon. And if you have any other suggestions, thoughts, or help for me, please let me know. I appreciate all of you. Thanks~Tina
